[ He doesn't think about the memories here.

They tease at him, those thoughts of the past. Pull at his synapses, beckoning him down the lane of remembrance with each familiar sight and smell. Old conversations drift towards his ears, whispering just beneath legible level--but he doesn't let them get louder.

Even the faintest caress of the past singes his soul. So he doesn't think about the last time he was at Kate's apartment, the conversations shared of heavy emotion and careful intent, because it was always meant to end the way it had. One day, he was supposed to just disappear, and he was expected to see everything he ever cared about burn without so much as a blink.

Of the first task, he was successful. The second--

Stop, he commands himself, glancing around the dirty walls and stairs leading to Kate's door.

Don't think. Don't remember. Just keep putting one foot forward.

Moving mechanically, he's through the security system in a few seconds--he'd been the one to have it installed, after all--and then he's there, in that cramped and quiet sanctuary..

.. but he's alone.

(Always alone. That's how it's meant to be.)

Lavi inhales deeply, letting himself risk the familiarity of her scent, his fingertips tracing over walls, tables, and finally, the same couch he'd spent so much time staking as his own.

He almost smiles, but he stops. Can't remember the good without the bad just yet, so he won't let himself go that far.

But he will, as he has done so many times in the past, lay his weary head to rest here. In the silence and sense of temporary haven, he's soon fast asleep in the mausoleum of memories. ]

Lavi can be easy to miss in a crowd. You'd think the flame orange hair and eye patch would call attention, and it often does, but a good deal of training has taught him to become a bland, faceless figure when he needs to be. Despite his height, he's rarely an imposing figure, and like most young men his age, has the look about him that he hasn't touched food in seven seasons and really should consider taking up a high-fat diet for the indefinite future.

FASHION

In canon, he's rarely seen outside of the various iterations of the exoricst uniform and some version of a scarf. In Overjoyed, he has similar tastes--practical boots, simple trousers, fitted coats, random "are those-thigh-highs" and color-coordinated accessories. He'll dress to match the occasion, particularly if he's doing undercover work, but there's a fair chance that he'll have a similar appearance to the above link if you see him in the day to day.

The only other notable exception would be when he's at rest--in which case he favors loose and baggy things, sans accessories.

DEMEANOR

In a word, Lavi is affable. Rarely without a carefree smile and relaxed posture, he cultivates the appearance and demeanor of someone who scarcely has the wits to contemplate such unpleasant things as the meaning of life. His warm appearance is largely false, and the more observant have a tendency to pick up on that, noting that his gaze is like "glass", reflecting nothing but the other person's own image to them.

AURAL

He varies between speaking in a slightly lilting, teasing tone and blunt, colder tenor. More often than not he'll sound as if he's telling one long joke, but there are times when his voice will take on a cold, emotionless quality, and these times are often when he's being the most authentic. His japanese VA can be heard here.

OLFACTORY

Likely an assortment of random scents that have no real connection to him--perfumes from gambling dens, smoke, hokk, esoteric strains of tea.
